Hammered Anglo Saxon coins from the reign of Edward the Confessor for sale. Edward was the son of Aethelred II 'the Unready' and Emma, the daughter of Richard I of Normandy. Edward lived in exile until 1041, when he returned to the London. He became king in 1042. on the death of his half brother Harthacanute. Edward died in January 1066 and was succeeded by Harold II.
