Hammered silver coins from the reign of Edward I. Edward was born in 1239 the son of Henry III. During his reign Edward was responsible for a variety of legal and administrative reforms (including the coinage), asserting the rights of the Crown, promoting the uniform administration of justice and codifying the legal system.
